PETITION TO DENTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT

That WE OPPOSE PARTICIPATION

in a COUNTYWIDE POLLING PLACE PROGRAM aka,

VOTING CENTERS

We the undersigned, respectfully petition Denton County Commissioners Court that we Oppose Participation in a Countywide Polling Place Program (CPPP) and to remain as a County Election Precinct Polling Place

If Denton County Commissioners Court decides to vote for participation in a Countywide Polling Place Program (CPPP), aka, "Voting Centers", electronic machines would be required in the polling locations. If, in the near future, Denton voters would desire Paper only, ie, hand marked paper ballots, paper poll books, hand count at precinct level, this would not be allowed with a CPPP.  The Texas State Election Code (Section 43.007) requires CPPP to use electronic Ballot Markers/Scanners/Printers/Poll Books.  If this decision is made, the only way to go to paper only would be to have the Commissioners Court reverse their decision and return to Precinct Polling Places.   To obtain "The Gold Standard of Voting" - Paper Poll Books, Hand Marked Paper Ballots, Hand Count at Precinct locations --  Denton County needs to remain as a County Election Precinct Polling Place
